Celebrating love with fall foliage

This year has been a super busy year at The Carriage House. It’s great to see so many couples in love. It’s brought me such joy to see these couples celebrating even through the difficult times that Covid has brought. Love doesn’t stop during a pandemic. I’m so glad that we can do this and be together celebrating love week after week.

As I was writing our blog this month, I was thinking through all of the special couples that we have had this fall. Each has a different and unique love story. I wanted to share the story of one of our couples.

Touring the grounds

Prior to booking our venue, I typically give a tour to the engaged couple. They often bring along a family member or friend. The tour for Lily and Keldan was unique because the couple wasn’t able to attend as they lived in Hawaii. Lily had two aunts tour the estate and FaceTime her during their tour. We talked about the different ways they could utilize the space. I am happy to accommodate couples who may be planning a destination wedding or aren’t able to have everyone in the party onsite for a tour.

A Fall Tennessee wedding

Over the course of planning their wedding, I learned a bit about this sweet couple and why they desired to get married in East Tennessee. Lily and Keldan met in Hawaii in high school in 2018. As military kids, each of them had moved around quite a bit growing up. They talked about where they wanted to settle down after they got married and agreed on Tennessee. It seemed only fitting to get married where they would start this life as a couple.

Everyone knows that God gives East Tennessee some special attention in the fall. Our foliage is so breathtaking! Lily knew this would be a perfect backdrop for their celebration. Her aunts that live close by toured the grounds and saw the trees surrounding our estate here in Dry Hollow. This created a perfect spot for fall color.

I was so honored to be a part of this couple’s day. They had a great celebration with the support of their East Tennessee family and others that were able to travel in to honor their marriage. If you are in a similar situation to this couple, I’m happy to share recommendations for lodging for your guests.

Our estate is beautiful throughout the year. If you are looking for a space that incorporates the outdoors into your wedding or special event, please give me a call. I’d love to give you a tour rather in person or virtually.

All my best,
