An Intimate East Tennessee Affair

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting several couples who have recently gotten engaged. They are so excited to celebrate their love, and I am excited for each couple.  As they are discussing their desires for a wedding, many of these couples are leaning toward micro weddings.

What is a micro wedding?

Micro weddings are smaller events. Different people will define these events by different numbers. Some say they are less than 20 people, others identify a micro wedding as less than 50 guests. When a couple tells me they want a micro wedding, I hear that they desire a smaller event which focuses on key people in their lives being present for their big day.

When you think about the concept of a micro wedding it falls somewhere between an elopement and a small/mid sized wedding. You still have many of the same details you would have with a normal wedding but on a smaller scale.

Planning a micro wedding

These weddings can be planned in a shorter timeline if you prefer. You’ll still need typical vendors like catering, photography, and a florist but with less people, you can execute the event on a smaller budget. For example, decorating less tables for the reception saves you time in planning and money in execution. Hosting less guests can also open up opportunities for vendors that might not be an option for a large event.

Some people use a micro wedding to make the event a more personal experience for all the guests. You can plan events beyond the wedding itself and turn the weekend into a memory for everyone involved.

The takeaway: you can keep a microwedding as simple or creative as you like. It’s your event.

Selecting a venue

Our estate is very versatile and can fit any size wedding. This means you don’t have to set your guest list firmly in stone before securing us as a venue. We have multiple locations for a ceremony that can help your wedding feel as small and intimate as you desire. Our indoor space can be used as one large room or split off to create the space that fits your guest list.

Our estate is nestled in the hills of East Tennessee. Many days we have the most perfect sunset at the end of our hollow. We love to host out of town couples who are looking for a gorgeous background for their destination wedding. Many local couples select our venue as they believe our estate perfectly captures the beauty of East Tennessee.

If you are planning a wedding in the East Tennessee area, please give me a call. I’d love to give you a tour of The Carriage House and discuss how it can be used to fit your dreams. I was just reviewing our calendar and noticed we have a few open dates this spring and summer. It would be a great fit for an elopement or micro wedding!

All my best,
