Greetings from The Carriage House!

As the holidays wind down, The Carriage House team is looking forward to a beautiful 2022 and the upcoming wedding season is a big part of our plans for Jefferson County’s premier wedding venue.

My son-in-law Walt, who was married to my daughter on these grounds, has taken a special interest in the horse stables.  In fact, so many of our discussions revolve around the stables that we’ve become accustomed to dreaming about all the “what ifs” for the space.

While we’ve used the stables for some non-profit events, they are more accustomed to storing tables and chairs and various decorations for the main wedding venue than being a focal point of our offerings here at the Carriage House.

Big news about our horse stables

The thing is– the stables have potential.  They really are charming, a timeless backdrop and reminder that you are on farm, even though we’re happy to admit that they have a certain air of elegance about them… some folks might even call them “fancy.” They can’t really help having some classic character, they are part of The Carriage House, after all.

That’s why we’re so excited to announce that we have made some changes to the stables, in essence giving you yet another great option for your wedding! Until now, the back patio of the Carriage House has been the main rainy-day backup plan for weddings, but the stables can now also provide a stellar space to get married if the weather doesn’t cooperate with your outdoor ceremony plans.

Changes at the stables

Sharing those changes with you is my absolute honor:

  • A beautifully lit antique chandelier is our focal point and draperies have been hung to help beautify the grounds’ work equipment area.
  • The church pews got a makeover… or perhaps, a makeunder!  We removed the padding and purple covering from a single pew to discover some handsome, worn vintage wood that welcomed believers every Sunday for generations. (I wonder just how many weddings they have seen?) I knew immediately that we had to uncover the remaining pews, and they turned out wonderfully!  We have sixteen pews that will seat more than 100 of your guests. We also built a custom arbor built to provide a focal spot for ceremonies held in the stables.  Best of all, the arbor and the pews are mobile and can be used anywhere on the grounds to create the perfect backdrop for your vows.
  • The stables can also be a quaint setting for your rehearsal dinner or a unique place for your drink bar and photo booth during the wedding reception… the ideas are endless.

Planning a wedding in Jefferson County?  Perhaps there’s a special event and you’re looking for the perfect venue.  Please accept my personal invitation to come and tour The Carriage House and our beautifully updated stables.   You’ll find everything you need to create an event your friends and family will be talking about for years to come.

All my best,

Lisa
